Old Ben's retirement

At twelve, Ben found the warmest spot in Millbrook: a rug by a wood stove.

Ben came to us at eleven, after his owner moved into care. We wondered if anyone would choose a dog his age.

Margaret did, on the first day she saw him. ‘We’re both retired,’ she said. ‘We’ll get on.’
